# Set up LandScale profile

Creating a LandScale profile is the first step in establishing your landscape initiative on the platform. Your profile serves as a central hub to showcase your initiative’s work, providing visibility to key stakeholders, funders, and partners.

A free LandScale profile provides an overview of your landscape, including its geographic boundary, key characteristics, and involved stakeholders. By setting up a profile, you create a foundation for greater engagement, transparency, and collaboration.

Specifically, you can showcase:

* The **landscape boundary**, including its size, location, and type (jurisdictional, watershed, stakeholder-defined).
* **Key characteristics**, such as population and traded commodities.
* A **narrative about the landscape**, highlighting its challenges, opportunities, and the initiative's vision for the future.
* **Key stakeholders** involved in the initiative, including their roles and levels of involvement.
* **Contact details** so others can get in touch.

Once your profile is set up, you can expand it by evaluating your [landscape initiative maturity](/landscape-initiative-maturity/get-started-with-landscape-initiative-maturity.md) or conducting a [LandScale assessment](https://docs.landscale.org/assessment-guidelines/), allowing you to validate and showcase deeper insights into your sustainability efforts.

Your profile can be shared publicly through a dedicated link, making it a useful tool for disclosures, reporting, and attracting potential investors or partners. The platform also enables you to explore and connect with other landscape initiatives, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

If you have a profile on [**SourceUp**](https://sourceup.org/), make sure you are registered on LandScale and contact us via the Help Desk so we can support you with the import.
